Camping & Glamping in Slovenia
Riverside pitches, alpine sites and glamping domes - where to go and when to book.
Slovenia does campsites unusually well, and it does glamping better than most countries twice its size.
The sites along the Soca and around Bohinj are the reason. Both sit inside or beside Triglav National Park, both are on water, and both have spent the last decade adding glamping units that are genuinely comfortable rather than a tent with a rug thrown over the floor – proper beds, private hot tubs, wood-fired saunas.
The catch is season. Most sites close from roughly October to April, and the good glamping units in July and August are booked months out. Wild camping is prohibited across the country, including in the national park, so the campsite network is not optional.

Is wild camping allowed in Slovenia?
No. Camping outside designated campsites is prohibited nationwide, including within Triglav National Park. Mountain huts are the alternative on longer routes.
When is camping season?
Roughly April to October for most sites, with a shorter window at altitude. A small number of sites near thermal spas stay open year-round.
How far ahead should I book glamping?
For July and August in the Soca valley or Bohinj, around three months. Standard pitches are easier but still worth booking for peak weeks.

What does glamping usually include?
